The nature programs on TV and close encounters with wild animals shot on filmis fascinating which aroused my interests in national parks. I have sat next to a full grown tiger in the Tiger temple of Thailand. One isawe struck by these animals. One also feels guilty as human race we have not really done a good job of preserving them. These National Parks are some small steps. I had my first opportunity in India to live deep inside the Corbett National Park in the Dhikala rest house for 2 nights.
Wehad close encounter with a family of wild elephants but the tiger proved too elusive.
We got charged by the protective mother of 2 calves. It's hair raising experience coming so close to the giants who could turn over our jeep like a toy.
Early morning jeep safari..
Late afternoon elephant safari...
The silence of the jungle is often broken by the "calls", monkeys and other animals warning of the tiger around, feared by one and all.
Deers by the Ramganga river...
Our close cousins always around us...
Beautiful scenary...
Spot the bird...
It is very rejuvenating being so close to nature.
